BacK in Time

During the year 1997 i went two times in NYC. Once in july and another one in december. As you can imagine i won't have forgot my swinsuit in my first trip. Then, when my american friends decided to bring me to the beach and that place called "Coney Island", i was so excited to find there my usual pleasure, like in my town in summer. Even the trip to that place is still a wonderfull "souvenir". As we were 5 people, transported by a pick-up car, two of us, me included, were lounging on the rear platform paying attention to not head-up because of the police and transportations rules. I remember very well the beautifull sky and the upper city side part, crossing over the the Brooklyn bridge to the final destination. We arrived at the beginning of the afternoon, took place on the beach in the middle of the portorican community. I must say that my first impression of the sea water state was not terrible, anyway that hasn't restrained me to have a bath.

At this time, i used to have allways a compact analog camera with me, the cheapest"," Leica of the moment, and my favorite one i can say, the "Mini III" model. I took there a lot of pictures and have had a lot of fun, going to the carrousel land after the beach too, i bought a T-shirt of this place, and between the black or white, i'd pick the black, even trying to bargain the price i think.

So more than ten years later i come back to NYC, i had an opportunity to live one month in Harlem in a very nice flat, but i don't had the the time to built a fashion shoot there. Whatever, the last day of my stay i've done one in the flat with a nice model coming from Brooklyn and living near Coney Island. I came back to my country and my flat in november, without any thought that this same girl could come to visit me one month later passing by europe for her modelling carreer. So, i flashed out my old grubby t-shirt asking her to wear it in front my sort of "NYC retable", where one of my favorite picture is printed. Sea gulls and pigeons are quite the same everywhere, upon all in Marseille where i live. As you know maybe, the three dimensions photography requires, to work well, different volume or object in the space distance from the camera, here the 3D galsses are just a wink to that and also to the time distance between the two pics. Then what to say more? Marseille has a new twinning town, and tne next time i will go there i will buy a new one t-shirt!
